Fantasy Friday: Nyami Nyami

Happy Friday Everyone! Once again we are back with another Fantasy Friday, this time featuring the Nyami Nyami. This River God is one of the most important gods of the Tonga people of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The appearance of the Nyami Nyami is believed to be a snake-like dragon with a fish's head, which inhabits the waters of the Zambezi River. This deity has a complicated relationship with the people surrounding its waters. For the most part, it is described as having love for the people, providing them with sustenance and protecting them.
