In the UK, this is a time to remember and celebrate the rich and often untold history of African people. To celebrate such an occasion our founder, Osarenkhoe Ogbeide, who is studying for a PhD at Churchill College, Cambridge; has been working with the college to launch this initiative. As you can see from the images, the Pan-African Flag is flying high over the the college building and will continue to do so throughout October in celebration of Black History Month.
This is a historic moment, as it is the first time in that the red, black and green banner has been flown over Churchill College, and to the best of our knowledge the first time it has flown over any Cambridge college.
The flag which represents African unity and pride is a fitting symbol to both reaffirm and celebrate the contributions of Africans, not only to the college but to the wider world.
